THE GENERAL PROGRAMMING

On day one, check in on Friday evening. We focus on participants to leave their lives and worries behind for the time being, as they are now in a place where all the worry about this is futile, as they can from here do nothing and when they get back they will have a much clearer view of how to tackle it anew and with greater success.

The fundamental program runs as a tread through each day. Out of bed at 6:30am. Exercise in the form of calisthenics, tai chi or yoga depending on the group and availability of instructors. At 7:00am ablutions, 7:30 meditation 8:00 breakfast. 9:00am half the group will go to work the other half, to group and workshops.

The work is in the farm kitchen with various tasks to be determined by the instructors and the resident farmer; as well as house and facility maintenance depending on the group and the intensity of the program, this will have variations depending on the season and necessities and needs of the clients and the facility.

At 12:30 there is meditation and lunch at 1:00 at 2:00pm with the short programs the groups will change. The work group will study and the study group will go to work. With the longer programs, this change is on a daily basis not every half days.

At 4:30pm is tea with light meal, 5:00 back to work or study, 7:00 meditation, 7:30 dinner. 8:30 ablutions, 9:00pm Zikr the circle of unity 10/10:30 free, but suggested bedtime.

Only married and legal common law couples are allowed to cohabitate the rest will be lodged in rooms of 6, 4 and 2 people of the same sex

Most is the same as above, except that everything is compulsory, but the study aspect will be various workshops depending on the needs of our clients and what will best benefit them as they progress. This will be determined by staff and appropriate experts, native healers, along and when reasonable with the client. We will see how we will do this when the time is right and the occasion arises. At the start all clients will do the same and branch of as we determine their needs

The main program to start, should be run in the months of April, May June, July, August and September to encourage school and not exclude those that are in school. There are carpentry and metalwork instructors and other trades people on board to offer the option of learing a trade. The centre particpates in various apprenticeship programs and hopefully some will directly transition into these. HERE IS WHERE THE PEEL OFFICE/DROP IN CENTRE WILL BE ESSENTIAL IN IT’S AFTER CARE.

We provide links to housing programs with a transitions system that prevents those who may have been homeless or will become homeless because there is no follow up or after support. This is to be avoided from happening, as we will then become counter productive.

For those clients with mental health issues it will be compulsory to be on meds and this must be strictly monitored by the appropriate people. Visitors cannot be denied but we must monitor the bringing in of undesirable things to the centre. Off site time is an option and to what degree this takes place if at all varies. We do not want to alienate the town we end up settling close too nor do we wish to operate in a prison model. However, we cannot throw caution to the wind. Possibly supervised outings this again will vary from client to client.

At the Friday evening check in orientation, people will be asked to hand over their cell phones and electric gadgetry, as this will only hinder them. There will be no televisions for the clients or guests as these are again counter productive and do not stimulate conversation and interaction, as people learn as much, if not more, from each other than from any instruction. A pay phone is available for emergencies only.

Remember this is all very forward looking and are as I mentioned not etched in stone, for the above I have people at this time this will change, increase and/or decrees. However, this is in rough my vision of a centre that will work and has not been done at this time, parts of it yes but not this way in this part of the world. It seems like a lot and it is, but with the right people it can be done and will be effective.

The reason working on the farm is so important for all is because it is a foreign experience for most and will be a wholesome experience to go from seed to plate and will bring people back to the reality and the fragility and miracle of life the balance of our reality.

All things grown or made on the property can either be utilized by us and that which is beyond our needs will be offered for sale, such as produce, eggs, furniture from woodworking, pottery, including the animals we raise etc.

For those who paint we can hold exhibitions in town and as a reward for those whom are in the drumming or other music therapies will put on a public concert of sorts. The clients will be a large part of the organizing of these events.
